The five brass players, who met while studying at universities in Hamburg and Hanover and through projects with Berlin orchestras, were immediately united by a shared musical vision: to use performing as a quintet as a synthesis of solo and orchestral playing and to collaborate closely through musical communication.
Since 2019, the ensemble has been meeting regularly for rehearsals in Hamburg and Berlin. They are accompanied by professors from various universities who are experienced in chamber music. Following their success at the German Music Competition in Bonn in 2022—where they were awarded a scholarship and accepted into the concert promotion program—the five musicians are even more motivated to expand the horizons of the classical repertoire with new programs and commissioned compositions.
In the program “The American,” the quintet presents the American tradition of the brass quintet in a humorous and entertaining concert, taking you on a journey across the American continent—and, of course, dance elements are a must in South America! The journey also continues into more modern music history and American jazz.
