Salzgitter

Temporary bathing facilities for dogs at Salzgittersee

As the dog beach on the lake island is currently inaccessible due to the closed pylon bridge, a temporary dog beach has been set up on the north-west side of the lake.

Dietrich Leptien, Head of Operations at the SRB, explains: "Since Tuesday, June 24, the pylon bridge on Salzgittersee has been closed due to construction work, meaning that dog owners have been unable to access the dog beach on the island. We have responded to a number of tips and complaints from dog owners and today, Friday, June 27, set up a provisional, temporary dog beach in the northwest area of the lake between the two diving entrances. The SRB will offer this temporary dog bathing area for the duration of the closure of access to the island, i.e. probably until the end of July. We hope that this will help all dog owners so that their four-legged friends can enjoy the cool water even at the height of summer."
