The Department for Integration
This is where the Integration Department comes in, offering information and advice on integration-related topics and acting as a cross-sectional unit within the city administration. It carries out networking work in all matters relating to integration and communicates with all specialist administrative services, institutions and partners in order to plan measures together and bundle them at municipal level.
This work is characterized, among other things, by a wide range of activities and projects that promote cultural diversity on the basis of universal values and people's individual needs and wishes.
The Integration Department is actively involved in the integration process, which is at the heart of the opportunities for social participation for all people living in Salzgitter. To this end, the provision of sufficient language skills, access to education and further training, participation in the economy and labor market, decent housing conditions and the living environment are just as important as an adequate legal status and the promotion of political participation for immigrants.
