Since 2001, the Kultursommer has been an integral part of the city’s cultural life. Every year, the historic complex surrounding the municipal Salder Castle is transformed into an atmospheric open-air stage and becomes a gathering place for culture enthusiasts from across the region.
The program combines top-notch concerts with a diverse range of cabaret and comedy: For one week, the idyllic Mühlengarten is dedicated entirely to cabaret, comedy, and special cultural events. Over two long summer weekends, major concert evenings take place in the castle courtyard—featuring nationally and internationally renowned artists as well as exciting new discoveries.
In recent years, artists such as Howard Carpendale, Uriah Heep, Nico Santos, Roland Kaiser, Max Giesinger, Fury In The Slaughterhouse, and many more have taken the stage at the Kultursommer, creating unforgettable summer evenings. The festival is made possible through close collaboration with our long-standing partners Studio D4 and the concert agency Piekert, who have played a key role in shaping the Kultursommer Salzgitter for many years.
