As part of the measures to deter geese, tree-trimming activities—including mechanical pruning, tree felling, stump grinding, and forest mulching—are taking place on the island in Salzgittersee.

Work on site will begin on Monday, November 9. For the duration of the project—approximately one week—it will not be possible to walk all the way around the island. Local closures of the trail are possible. Users of the island trails are asked to pay attention to the barriers and warning signs.
