Volkmar Dietrich, a teacher of low brass instruments (trombone, tuba, and euphonium) on the staff of the municipal music school, kicked off the event. Since last year, this certified orchestral musician and music educator has been inspiring music enthusiasts of all ages, bridging the gap between pedagogy, technical skill, and great music.
The students’ interest in all brass instruments has grown.
That is why Chen-Lun Huang is joining the high brass section and will take over the instruction of trumpet and French horn students. After earning her bachelor’s degree in Taiwan, she completed her master’s degree at the Munich University of Music and Performing Arts, played in various orchestras and brass ensembles, and has been teaching at various music schools since 2020—currently also at the Peine District Music School and in Nienburg.
“It gives me great joy to accompany children, teenagers, and adults on their musical journey, to foster their enthusiasm for music, and to help them develop according to their abilities,” says the new instructor.
Sabine Petter, director of the music school, is pleased that the municipal music school can now offer instruction in all brass instruments—trombone, euphonium, tuba, trumpet, and French horn.
In addition, there’s another new addition to the team: Jan Bostelmann, who has been teaching saxophone and clarinet since August 1. As an experienced musician with a degree from the Osnabrück Conservatory and many years of artistic experience in the field of jazz, he looks forward to working with both beginners and advanced students. His focus is on teaching students solid technique and supporting them individually in their favorite styles.
