The idea: Bring in a jigsaw puzzle and get a gift certificate for a new one in return. “Many puzzle fans have already turned in their puzzles and are looking forward to November 7 to redeem their voucher for a new puzzle,” says Sylvia Fiedler, director of the Salzgitter City Library.
Jigsaw puzzles in good condition and in their entirety—for children or adults, whether 500 or 3,000 pieces, featuring landscapes, animals, or art—were turned in at the city library’s three branches in exchange for a jigsaw puzzle voucher. The selection is now large and varied, as the number of puzzle enthusiasts continues to grow.
“Puzzling is an enduring and modern trend in which, as is well known, many small printed pieces are put together to form a large picture. People consciously disconnect from the digital world and relax while doing so,” says Sylvia Fiedler, director of the City Library.
Anyone who’d like to can also bring their puzzle to the swap meet!
The City Library team looks forward to welcoming many puzzle fans!
