Mayor Frank Klingebiel expressed his gratitude for Mr. Ordowski’s many years of dedicated and reliable service: “With a strong sense of responsibility and a high level of professional expertise, Mr. Ordowski has carried out public duties in the areas of environmental protection and fire safety over the past years. Through his dedication, he has made a significant contribution to the safety and well-being of the citizens of Salzgitter.”
The appointment, which is governed by the Chimney Sweep Trade Act and is granted for a fixed term of seven years, became necessary due to the expiration of the previous appointment on July 31.
What makes this appointment special is that Sascha Ordowski has been managing chimney-sweeping district “SZ-10710” since August 2012. The district encompasses approximately 3,400 properties and the neighborhoods of Thiede, Drütte, several streets in the Watenstedt district, the Volkswagen (Beddingen) and MAN (Watenstedt) plants, and the Fümmelse district of the city of Wolfenbüttel. This new appointment is his third and is also valid for seven years. “All good things come in threes,” said the mayor, who was just as impressed by the size of the chimney-sweeping district as he was by the variety of tasks involved.
In addition, he praised the 85 training and continuing education courses completed over the past seven years, as well as the master chimney sweep’s volunteer work. In addition to his work, Sascha Ordowski serves as district chairman and point of contact for the Salzgitter district group, acting as a liaison between the authorized representatives, the guild, and the city of Salzgitter.
He is a member—and, in his capacity as district chairman, serves on the extended executive board—of the Braunschweig Chimney Sweep Guild. He also serves on the board of Haus und Grund in Salzgitter.
“Thank you very much for continuing to work with us. The residents of the ‘Salzgitter-10710’ chimney-sweeping district can continue to count on your expertise and friendliness,” emphasized the mayor, who then thanked all the authorized district chimney sweeps from the other districts within the city of Salzgitter for their work, as well as Christian Malak from the Braunschweig Chimney Sweep Guild.
This sentiment was echoed by Eric Neiseke, First Deputy Mayor of the City of Salzgitter; City Planning Director Michael Tacke; Gülbahar Alakus-Neiseke, head of the Safety, Law, and Order Department; and Allete Kapelar from the Public Safety and Commerce Division.
