For kindergartens and schools, an additional action week will be held from March 15 to 19, 2027. Mayor Frank Klingebiel is the patron of the spring cleanup.
In 2026, more than 7,400 residents—including many children and students—collected litter that had been carelessly discarded in their city.
Unfortunately, there are always people who fail to dispose of their trash properly and thus pollute the environment. The SRB invites all citizens to take a stand against littering and to set an example for greater environmental awareness and a sense of responsibility—for a clean Salzgitter. Whether alone or in a group, everyone can help clean up public spaces by picking up carelessly discarded trash.
Anyone who wishes to do so can register for City Cleanup Day by March 12, 2027, as follows:
Online (see link below), by email at abfallberatungstadt.salzgitterde, or by mail to SRB Salzgitter, Korbmacherweg 5, 38226 Salzgitter.
The Municipal Public Works Department, as the organizer of the spring cleanup, hopes for another high turnout with many registrations in 2027. It will provide trash bags for the spring cleanup. Distribution will begin on March 8, 2027, based on the number of registered participants.
They will be available at the SRB, located at Korbmacherweg 5 in Lebenstedt, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Thursdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The SRB will collect and dispose of the filled bags.
Further information on the spring cleanup is also available from the SRB’s waste advisory service at 05341 / 839-3741.
