Description
People with severe disabilities who have an exceptional walking impairment (code aG), bilateral amelia or phocomelia, or comparable functional limitations, as well as blind people, may receive a special permit (“blue parking permit”).
Only with the “blue parking permit” may you park in spaces marked with an additional sign featuring the wheelchair symbol (“disabled parking spaces”). The “blue parking permit” is valid in all countries of the European Union.
In addition, you have the following privileges if no other parking option is available within a reasonable distance:
- Parking with a parking disc for up to three hours in areas where a limited no-stopping zone is in effect.
- Exceeding the permitted parking duration within a no-stopping zone
- Parking in areas where parking is permitted by traffic signs, beyond the time allowed by supplementary signs
- Parking during permitted loading times in pedestrian zones
- Parking free of charge and without time limits at parking meters and ticket dispensers
- Parking with a parking disc for up to three hours in parking spaces designated for residents of urban neighborhoods.
- Parking in designated traffic-calming zones outside of areas marked for parking, provided you do not obstruct through traffic.
For people with severe disabilities who have bilateral amelia or phocomelia, or comparable functional limitations, the time limits that require the use of a parking disc do not apply.
You must display the parking permit in a clearly visible location behind the windshield and always carry the special permit with you.
