Singer Franziska Dannheim captures the allure of “Doris Day” with her down-to-earth manner and her incomparably refined sex appeal. Always teetering on the edge of kitsch—and often crossing it—she is the openly charming queen of the idyllic suburban world, and it’s impossible to resist her charm.
With well-known songs and quotes from the era, as well as her own associations and anecdotes, Franziska Dannheim—accompanied by pianist Markus Stollwerk, the “Rock Hudson” of the keyboard—takes a lively journey through the defining moments in the life of the radiant blonde.
Franziska Dannheim studied voice with Yukako Kinoya in Stuttgart and continued her training in Essen with Anita Salta. She performed as a guest artist with the tango quintet “Primavera del Tango” and founded the musical comedy duo “Coco-lorez” with Carmela De Feo. The centerpiece of her work is currently her “Oper légère” format. In addition, she develops musical programs on an irregular basis featuring Doris Day, Carla Bruni, her own songs, or with the group Tango Fuego.
Markus Stollwerk studied composition at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen. He lives and works as a freelance composer, pianist, and conductor. As a pianist, in addition to his solo programs, he has performed numerous song recitals with various partners and held guest engagements, for example, at the Musiktheater im Revier.
