Date & time
When the violin and piano come together in a symbiotic dialogue, they create a space for honest, narrative moments. The young duo, consisting of violinist Jakow Pavlenko and pianist Sonja Kowollik, invites the audience not only to listen to the music but also to experience it as a living process. In their program “Liebesfreud und Liebesleid” (The Joys and Sorrows of Love), the two weave together well-known miniatures and grand sonatas into a panorama of emotional inner worlds—ranging from playful lightness to fervent longing.
Jakow Pavlenko, who has already captivated audiences at the Elbphilharmonie and the Pierre Boulez Hall, and Sonja Kowollik, a recipient of multiple international awards, are distinguished by their courage to let go in the moment and breathe new life into works in accordance with their deepest intentions. Together, they bring feelings of longing to life and make the composers’ thoughts palpable.
