Chekhov’s story is both hilarious and painfully tragic: it deals with how people interact with one another—interactions marked by fear, embarrassment, and indifference, but also by compassion and loving devotion. It’s about the hope for redemption and the dream of small moments of happiness. And it’s up to our decisions whether, in the end, regret or love remains.

What does it actually mean to be human in these macabre times? Oliver Mommsen plays all the roles in the play. This creates an intimacy between the actor and the audience that allows for a deep dive into the human psyche. Audience and performer become a close-knit community. An evening full of dark humor that you won’t soon forget!
