We ask for your understanding that from 01.02.2025 there will be longer processing times in the area of guardianships in the specialist service for children, youth and family of the city of Salzgitter due to considerable staff vacancies.

Who can get advice?

• Single parents for clarification of child maintenance claims, including calculation and corresponding certification
• Mothers or fathers with whom the child lives with regard to their own maintenance claims against the other parent (so-called care maintenance)
• young adults up to the age of 21 with regard to their own maintenance claims against their parents.

By appointment, we notarize maintenance obligations free of charge

• for children who have not yet reached the age of 21
• Maintenance claims of the parent providing care

If no amicable arrangements can be made with the parent liable for maintenance, it is possible to set up a guardianship for your minor child.
