After Cuba and Sri Lanka were the most recent destinations, Nepal, the "Land of the Thunder Dragon", and Bhutan are to be visited at the beginning of 2026 - specifically from February 16 to 28. Bookings are now being accepted.
The two Himalayan states are particularly exciting in terms of landscape, culture and development policy. They are strongly influenced by religion, Nepal mainly by Hinduism and Bhutan by Buddhism. The large number of pagodas and temples is impressive, as are the forests, valleys and peaks of the world's highest mountain range. Nepal is considered one of the last royal paradises. Centuries-old customs and rituals as well as the right to happiness are an integral part of life in this country.
Destinations of the round trip in combination with a domestic flight include Kathmandu, the royal city of Patan, Thimphu with the Tashichoe Dzong monastery, the "Tiger's Nest Monastery" Thaktsang and a safari to see rare rhinos in Chitwan National Park. There are also meetings on environmental issues, a talk at the United Nations office and visits to an eco-chili farm and a village with the local chief.
The tour price per person is 3399 euros in a double room. It includes accommodation in good middle-class hotels, half board, the round trip in air-conditioned buses, scheduled flights from and to Frankfurt to Kathmandu and domestic flights between Nepal and Bhutan.
