Salzgitter

Second round of workshops on the future of weekly markets in Salzgitter

The 2nd round of workshops on the development of the weekly markets will take place on October 7 and 8.

How can the weekly markets in Salzgitter-Bad and Salzgitter-Lebenstedt be strengthened and further developed in the future? This question will continue to be addressed as part of the participation process for the development of weekly markets. The process is being supported by CIMA Beratung + Management GmbH (Hanover) on behalf of the City of Salzgitter and Wirtschafts- und Innovationsförderung Salzgitter GmbH (WIS).

Following the successful launch in September, the process is now entering the next phase: two public workshops in October offer the opportunity to deepen previously developed approaches and jointly develop concrete measures to secure the future of the markets. The events are aimed at all those interested in the markets - from market traders and local businesses to market visitors and committed citizens.

The focus this time is on the following questions:

  • What measures are particularly important for an attractive and lively market design?
  • Which ideas from the first workshop can realistically be implemented?
  • With which partners can implementation succeed?
  • Which examples from other cities could serve as inspiration?

The dates at a glance:

  • Salzgitter-Lebenstedt: Tuesday, October 7, 2025, 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the Kulturscheune (Thiestraße 22, 38226 Salzgitter)
  • Salzgitter-Bad: Wednesday, October 08, 2025, 18:00 - 21:00 in the atrium of WIS (Windmühlenbergstraße 20, 38259 Salzgitter)

Anyone who was unable to attend the first workshop is also welcome to join in - fresh perspectives and new ideas are expressly encouraged. The results of this second round will be incorporated into the development of an implementation strategy, which will serve as the basis for the future design and organization of the weekly markets.
