The early childhood language and reading promotion campaign "Lesestart - the reading initiative for Germany" was launched in 2008. This was initiated by Stiftung Lesen. A broad network is now part of the campaign.
Salzgitter City Library is actively involved in the "Lesestart" (opens in a new tab) project.
The set consists of a colorful Lesestart bag and contains, among other things, a taster card and information about the city library, a voucher for a picture book and a reading guide.
