Description
- Children and adolescents,
- Parents,
- other individuals with visitation rights (in some cases, this may include grandparents, for example), as well as
- persons in whose care the child is placed (such as foster parents)
are entitled to counseling regarding the exercise of visitation rights. This means that the Youth Welfare Office can and may inform these individuals about the legal aspects of visitation rights.
This same group of individuals is also entitled to support in exercising visitation rights. This entitlement goes beyond legal counseling. For example, the Youth Welfare Office can draft letters and facilitate mediation discussions. Depending on the circumstances of the individual case, it may also be that such further assistance is not possible.
