If there is a change in the identity of the registered owner, the previous registered owner or owner must immediately notify the competent registration authority for the purpose of updating the vehicle registry.

Depending on the registration authority’s procedures, a form for this purpose may be available for download.

Notification is not required if the purchaser has already reported the changes to the registration authority. Immediately after the change of owner, the purchaser must provide the registration authority responsible for his or her place of residence or registered office with the new owner’s information and the vehicle’s details and, upon request, provide proof apply for the issuance of a new Certificate of Registration Part I by presenting proof of insurance, and submit Certificate of Registration Part II for amendment (transfer of ownership).
