The Youth Protection Act is responsible for the protection of children and young people in public and in the media. Within the City of Salzgitter, great importance is attached to compliance with this law and the protection of children and young people prioritized therein.
The City of Salzgitter's child and youth protection services operate in accordance with Section 14 SGB VIII with a wide range of preventative services aimed at children and young people. The services are intended to support young people in protecting themselves from danger. In addition, education about possible dangers should enable children and young people to make self-determined decisions for themselves and their own health.
