The association has been in existence for 25 years.
The goals that were formulated in 1998, the year it was founded, are still relevant today:
- Raising donations / membership fees
- The promotion of youth work (youth care), in particular the maintenance of the Neuwerk youth and education camp of the city of Salzgitter.
This includes work assignments, construction measures and necessary purchases.
Thanks to many committed people, it was possible to realize, among other things
- Purchase and construction of five wooden log cabins
- Conversion of the roof of the main building from a flat roof to a pitched roof with storage facilities
- Purchase/renewal of group tents and repeated renewal of the tent canvas
- Renovation of the sanitary, shower and WC area

Commitment to the development association
The association is happy to welcome committed people who would like to support the work with donations and/or membership fees in order to continue equipping the camp for the future.
In the more than 60 years that the youth camp has been in existence, over 43,000 people have been guests at the camp and experienced a unique time on the small island.
The financial support in the form of donations and/or membership fees go 100% to the camp, as there are no administrative costs.
The association is a non-profit organization and is entitled to issue donation receipts.
The support association is a cooperation partner of the City of Salzgitter, Municipal Children and Youth Support - all purchases are made in close coordination.
