"Children in view" - A course for parents in separation

Under the title "Kinder im Blick" ("KIB course"), the City of Salzgitter's parenting, family and youth counseling service offers a course for separated parents twice a year (in spring and autumn).
The next course starts at the end of February 2026 and registration is possible all year round.

The focus is on the well-being of the children.

Among other things, parents receive suggestions on how they can best support their children during the separation and at the same time take good care of themselves.

A separation is a difficult time for everyone involved. Nothing is the same as before, conflicts with the other parent and financial problems demand strength, time and nerves - often at the expense of the children and their own well-being. Children need a lot of attention during this time in order to cope with the transition to the new phase of life.

Introductions to the topics alternate with exercises and mutual exchange in the group. There are also lots of suggestions for everyday life at home.

The next course starts at the end of February 2026:

The next course will take place in spring 2026 on Fridays from 3 to 6 p.m. on the following days

February 27, March 6, March 20, April 10, April 24, May 8 and on May 22

Where: Volkshochschule in Lebenstedt (Thiestraße 26a)

Costs: Participation is free of charge
