The "Kinder im Blick" (KIB) course was developed by the LMU in Munich and the Familien-Notruf in Munich.

It is designed to help parents provide their children with the best possible support during the separation and at the same time take good care of themselves. A separation is a major challenge for everyone involved. Nothing is the same as before, conflicts with the other parent and financial problems demand strength, time and nerves - often at the expense of the children and their own well-being. Children need a lot of attention during this time in order to cope with the transition to the new phase of life.

In the situation of separation, you may ask yourself the following questions:

• What is important for my children in the current situation?
• How can I maintain a good relationship with my child even when stress levels are high?
• How can I help my child to develop more easily?
• How can we as parents get on better with each other?
• And how can I take care of myself at the same time?

During seven meetings and a follow-up meeting, an experienced team of counselors will help you find answers to these questions. You will also learn how to deal with stress and take good care of yourself, how to support and accompany your child or children and how to reduce parental conflicts. Introductions to the topics alternate with exercises and mutual exchange in the group. There are also lots of suggestions for everyday life at home.
