In the former stables of Salder Castle, the gallery of the Salder Castle Municipal Art Collection extends over two floors. With the exhibition formats "Salon Salder - New Art from Lower Saxony" and the "präsenz" series, the art collection presents contemporary artistic positions on changing themes.

In addition to the presentation of young art, the gallery shows works from the extensive art collection of the city of Salzgitter on the subject of work in changing exhibitions, the exhibition format "Memory of Work".

With a broad educational program of guided tours, workshops, concerts, readings and artist talks, the gallery of the Salzgitter Municipal Art Collections is a place for discourse on artistic positions that reflect social life and raise questions about relevance, identity, values and one's own point of view.

The "Small Gallery" in the Tillyhaus in Salzgitter-Bad in particular stands for the cultivation of the local art scene. Every year, four solo exhibitions by members of the Salzgitter Gruppe and two solo exhibitions by members of the Freie Kunststudio Spektrum are shown there. The "Small Gallery" in the Tillyhaus is very popular and is managed by the Municipal Art Collections of the Department of Culture.
