Workshops for children

The Medienzentrum offers a varied free program during the summer vacations. From programming and exploring with LEGO WeDo to an exciting animation workshop - there is something for everyone.

The courses are open to children between the ages of 9 and 12 who are looking for unforgettable adventures, want to have fun and learn a bit at the same time. The desire to be creative and enthusiasm for filmmaking are essential.

The maximum number of participants is 8 children.

Time: 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Venue: Medienzentrum, Lernraum EG., Wehrstr. 29, 38226 Salzgitter-Lebenstedt

Discovering the forest with digital microscopes

What does a leaf look like up close?
What patterns are hidden on the bark of a tree?
And what can you find on the forest floor?

In our workshop, we go on a discovery tour in the forest together with a digital microscope. The children explore plants, moss, leaves and insects and discover exciting details that can hardly be seen with the naked eye. They also playfully learn how a microscope works - directly on site in the forest in Salzgitter-Lichtenberg.

In addition, the children can look forward to an exciting forest bingo: who will be the first to discover a pine cone, a special leaf or something green?

Together we will experience the forest from a completely new perspective. The course is for children aged 6-9.

Meeting point:
Large parking lot at the forest in Salzgitter-Lichtenberg.

Animated film workshop

Animated film workshop - LEGO® Edition

With LEGO® figures, tablet and green screen, children aged 9 to 12 film really cool stories about Salzgitter. Whether it's a dive in Salzgittersee, a day as an employee of the SRB or a trip to Salder Castle Museum - there are no limits to the imagination.

The children not only learn how stop-motion works, but also how to use a green screen to make backgrounds transparent and insert any images or videos into the film.

The tips and tricks learned can then be easily implemented at home.

The course not only offers lots of fun, but also insights into the world of media. The focus is on creativity, teamwork and technical understanding.
