The "ABC Reading" cooperation project between the health department and the education department/city library of the city of Salzgitter has been running since 2008 under the patronage of Mayor Frank Klingebiel.

After a successful school entry examination, the prospective pupils receive a voucher from the city library for a library card and a gift when they start school.

As part of the health region, this project has been expanded somewhat and this year the Abc pupils will receive a CD "Treasure Hunt in Salzgitter" from the pediatrician Dr. Bahlmann-Duwe and her team.

The cooperation partners are convinced that this campaign will inspire many families in Salzgitter to read (aloud) - "ABC Lesen" offers parents an uncomplicated way to start promoting early childhood reading.

At the same time, the aim is to playfully awaken an interest in a healthy diet and sufficient exercise in future schoolchildren.
