The staff see people as holistic beings, which is why their hospice work focuses on
- Targeted symptom control of pain and other complaints,
- the implementation of palliative medical treatment and care,
- spiritual support by helping to clarify questions of meaning and unfinished business.
A prerequisite for implementing the hospice concept is the social competence and empathy of both the full-time staff and the volunteer companions.
In order to provide guests and their families with the best possible quality of life, the staff work in a versatile professional team consisting exclusively of registered nursing staff, doctors, social workers, pastoral workers and trained volunteers from the Salzgitter Hospice Initiative. This ensures that seriously ill and dying people and their wishes and needs are at the center of hospice work.
