Environmental report and energy report of the city of Salzgitter

With the environmental report, the City of Salzgitter regularly provides information on the current state of the environment and developments over the past few years.
In addition, the City of Salzgitter's energy report is published in accordance with the Lower Saxony Climate Act.

Environmental report

Among other things, the environmental report deals with the topics of soil (old sites, old deposits, surface pollution), water (surface water, groundwater, flood protection), climate and energy, air, noise, electromagnetic compatibility and supply and disposal (water supply, wastewater disposal, waste management).

It also contains the results of the groundwater measuring points in the Salzgitter urban area. An annual update is planned, which will include both a continuous expansion and the setting of changing focal points.

Energy report

The energy report provides information on the annual energy consumption of heat and electricity as well as the CO2-equivalent emissions in public properties in the city of Salzgitter. It describes the balances and summaries as well as the consumption of individual buildings.

The aim of the energy report is to raise awareness of consumption and emissions in the public sector and to identify worthwhile targets for investment in the areas of energy-efficient building refurbishment and CO2 reduction.

The figures are updated annually and thus show the development of consumption, costs and emissions over time.
