In the presence of other members of the Board of Trustees, 64 applicants with 68 projects received a total of around 864,000 euros in the Kulturscheune in Salzgitter-Lebenstedt on July 14.
The largest grants of 100,000 euros each were awarded to FC Germania Bleckenstedt for the restoration of the soccer pitch to year-round playability and to the Schäferstuhl Air Sports Association as partial funding for the replacement investment of a tow plane.
In addition, the Blauweiß Salzgitter tennis club will receive almost 73,000 euros for the renovation of the roof of the tennis hall, the Neuwerk youth camp support association will receive 53,600 euros for the construction of wooden log cabins, the Catholic parish of St. Marien will receive 50,000 euros for the renovation of the baroque organ in Ringelheim, and the DITIP Turkish Cultural Association will receive just over 42,000 euros for an elevator suitable for the disabled.
The remaining applicants' grants range from 30,000 euros to the Evangelical Lutheran parish of St. Peter for furnishing and equipping the parish hall to 400 euros for the Vechelde women's choir to renew its sheet music. The circle of recipients is broad and ranges from various cultural associations, shooting, allotment and water sports clubs to the prevention council, hospice society, school associations, animal welfare association and the archaeological working group.
The event was framed by a film and printed documentation of the funded measures from 2013, which once again confirmed how useful and widely distributed the funds have been in the associations in Salzgitter, Lengede and Vechelde.
