For the second time, the Bambula, Gebhardshagen, Graffiti, Lichtenberg, and Thiede (KJTs) children's and youth clubs held this joint holiday event on the grounds of the KJT Graffiti in the city park. The six to twelve-year-olds were spoiled for choice: the children could let off steam playing ball games, dancing or climbing. Those who preferred things a little quieter looked for a place in the artist's workshop for handicrafts and creative activities.
The children particularly enjoyed making their own "loom bands". All the girls and boys loved the bouncy castle. Another highlight in both weeks was "Zorbball" and the "Impro Theater". Young artists were able to try their hand at juggling or balancing on the slackline. Some children were also out and about as roving reporters, capturing the action for the FETSZ newspaper. Billiards, table football and table tennis were just as popular. The children were enthusiastic about the games on offer: "I think the numerous activities were great and the supervisors were nice. I liked the bouncy castle and the Skooby Doo ribbons best," said Hannah. Joana thought the bowling was great and the food was delicious.
As part of the special two-week childcare program from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., the children were looked after by 15 employees and volunteers from the KJTs. A transport service was provided for the children from Gebhardshagen, Thiede and Salzgitter-Bad.
For Christa Frenzel, Head of Social Affairs and Education, the positive response from the children is a great endorsement of the concept of municipal child and youth development. It is therefore already clear that the next vacation adventure days will take place in 2015. The children can already look forward to it today!
