The electoral body "electoral management" performs its tasks in the electoral process in accordance with the statutory provisions without being bound by instructions. Within this framework, it is also responsible for tasks for which no further representation is possible (including legally binding declarations to be made in person).

The election management and the deputy must uphold the principle of neutrality and objectivity in the performance of their duties.

The duties of the election management for the duration of the current legislative periods of the Lower Saxony State Parliament and the European Parliament are also carried out by Michael Tacke. The corresponding appointments were made by the Lower Saxony State Election Commissioner on February 23, 2015.

Wolfram Skorczyk has also already been appointed as deputy electoral officer by the state electoral officer.

The district returning officer for the 2013 Bundestagswahl was responsible for the district of Wolfenbüttel.
