Preparations have been underway for some time, but it was not foreseeable that the number of refugees to be admitted would increase so rapidly.

The administration is currently working flat out to accommodate the incoming refugees and prepare accommodation for the expected refugees.

The accommodation and care concept will be presented to the local councils at public information events:

• Village North-East: October 26, 6 p.m., St. Bernward Family Center, Pappeldamm 111
• Northwest: October 27, 6 p.m., Lichtenberg elementary school gym, Burgbergstraße 50
• East: October 28, 6 p.m., Heilig-Geist-Kirche, Maangarten 12
• South East: October 29, 6 p.m., Schule Am Gutspark, Opperklappe 8
• Village North: October 30, 3 p.m., council chamber of the town hall in Lebenstedt
