Classification of the electoral areas

For the Kommunalwahl on September 11, 2016, the area of the city of Salzgitter will once again be divided into six electoral districts for the council elections. The divisions have only changed slightly since the last election.

On December 21, the council decided on the boundaries of electoral areas A to F. According to the Lower Saxony Municipal Constitution Act (NKomVG), 44 council members are to be elected in Salzgitter.

The election office in Salzgitter will once again be staffed by two employees from April 1, 2016 in order to convene around 1,000 electoral assistants for 100 electoral boards. There will also be around 100 electoral assistants for the postal ballot boards.

The postal voting offices will probably open in the town hall and the Salzgitter-Bad branch office from the beginning of August 2016. Councillor Michael Tacke has been appointed as the municipal election officer for the current municipal election period.
