Bringing electromobility to life

"Bringing electromobility to life": This is the focus of the "E-mobility at work and at leisure" day of action on Thursday, September 22, as part of European Mobility Week.

Michael Tacke, City Councillor for Building, Urban Planning, Transport and the Environment; Harald Toppe, Consultant for Basic Building and Environmental Issues, Michael Buntfusz, Head of the Environment Department in the Urban Planning, Environment, Building Regulations and Monument Protection Department and Jan Holzenbecher, Climate Protection Manager of the City of Salzgitter, are looking forward to welcoming many visitors. The city of Salzgitter is taking part in this initiative for the first time this year as part of its climate protection activities and, together with ten partners, is offering a varied program of information and events.

The square in front of the town hall will be transformed into a special venue from 2 pm. Various electric vehicles (unicycles, Segways, motorcycles, cars, commercial vehicles and public buses) will be available to look at and touch. Contact persons will also be on hand to answer questions about these electrically powered means of transportation. Information material is also available to take away.

If you would like to try out "silent driving" for yourself, you will find special opportunities to do so in small skill courses: Driving the electric vehicles can be tested free of charge. Of course, there will also be driving tips and advice on safe use in road traffic.

At the same time, there will be several short presentations such as "Prospects for electromobility in Salzgitter" or "The development of electromobility in local public transport in Salzgitter". The topic of electromobility will be examined from various angles. Visitors are also invited to take part in discussions or ask questions.

If you would like to have something to eat in between, you will find various offers at the Schlosshof-Salder stand. Live music will provide entertainment from 16:00 to 20:00.

Michael Tacke, City Councillor for Building, Urban Planning, Transport and the Environment, thanked the participating partners for their support. This day of action is intended to show visitors in a variety of ways that electromobility is fun and easy to use. This day is a further building block in the city of Salzgitter's climate protection activities. The Climate Savings Book, the Energy Days and energy advice in individual districts are further focal points.
