125 quickly sold building plots on 18 hectares, three hectares of which are nature conservation areas, a relaxed development pattern, lots of greenery - and all of this in a prime location with good transport links: the Lindenberg development area in Salzgitter-Thiede, the development of which began almost ten years ago, has been a great success.

The representatives of the city of Salzgitter and the project sponsor, Volksbank Braunschweig/Wolfsburg, agreed on this when they met to return the guarantee certificate. With this guarantee, the Volksbank had guaranteed the city that it would meet all the requirements for the development and marketing of the construction area. "It was a very good collaboration," summarized Michael Tacke, head of the construction department. A residential area with a very high quality of living has been created.

Michael Flentje, Managing Director of BraWo Projekt GmbH, also expressed his satisfaction with the 8.5 million euro project, which was completed in two construction phases. Not even the real estate crisis in 2009 had caused serious problems. The last plot was sold in 2013.

Work on and in the new residential area has now been completed, as documented by the return of the deed of guarantee. However, something will happen in the next few weeks: Volksbank will have wooden sculptures erected at the beginning of 2017 to commemorate the legend of the dwarves of Lindenberg.
