The council of the city of Salzgitter elected the 38-year-old law graduate at its meeting on Wednesday evening with one vote against and five abstentions. It thus followed the proposal of Lord Mayor Frank Klingebiel.
Eric Neiseke said that he was looking forward to the multifaceted task as head of department and to a fruitful and trusting cooperation with all council groups.
The Hanoverian will thus become a temporary civil servant with a term of office of eight years.
