Salzgitter

Register the wedding ceremony online

With the new online wedding calendar, the registry office of the city of Salzgitter is the first municipality in Lower Saxony to expand its range of services, according to Wolfram Skorczyk, the head of the department responsible.

Registrar Carola Rautmann and head of department Wolfram Skorczyk present the application.

According to Skorczyk, bridal couples or partners can search for available wedding dates from the comfort of their own home and around the clock at their preferred wedding venue and reserve them up to a year in advance.

This not only makes it easier to plan the wedding celebrations. "However, it is not possible to reserve multiple dates," adds Achim Zöfelt, Head of Citizen Services and Order.

When selecting the location for the wedding, you can decide in the calendar whether you would like to get married in the wedding room of the town hall, the Fürstensaal of Salder Castle, the Biedermeier room of the Kniestedter Gutshaus, the wedding room of Lichtenberg Castle, the dovecote tower in Ringelheim or in Gebhardshagen moated castle.

Zöfelt: "The online wedding calendar can be accessed via the link https://traukalender.salzgitter.de/ (opens in a new tab) or salzgitter.de and provides an overview of the available and already booked dates in Salzgitter. If the date is highlighted in green, it can be reserved with the desired time."

According to registrar Carola Rautmann, the reservation is then marked directly in the wedding calendar and sent to the registry office, which checks the availability of the wedding room.

After the successful reservation, an automatic confirmation of receipt is sent by e-mail with a deadline for confirmation. Within this period, the registry office must be contacted regarding the necessary documents and the further time schedule.

If the registry office does not receive a response within the period specified in the e-mail, the reserved date will be released for online reservation again.
