Salzgitter

Salzgitter - a city in the countryside

How green are the cities? After Siegen, Göttingen and Bergisch Gladbach, Salzgitter is the fourth greenest city in Germany out of 79 large cities.

Part of the Salzgitter mountain range.

This result was determined by the Berliner Morgenpost (opens in a new tab), which compared almost 200 satellite images.

The name "Salzgitter - City in the Green" is no coincidence.

There is nature to be discovered everywhere: In the Salzgitter hills and at the Salzgittersee recreation center, of course. Also at Heerter See and Reihersee, on the Innerste, Warne, Fuhse, Flothe and at and around the Bismarck Tower.

These and other attractive destinations for excursions are presented in the Salzgitter Naturatlas.
