There is a huge demand for building plots. There are currently around 1,750 building plot applications for the entire city area. This is due to the historically low interest rates on building loans, the desire to invest more in tangible assets and the fact that the city of Salzgitter has become very attractive for young families. In order to meet this strong demand, the city of Salzgitter is developing over 500 building plots over the next five years.
The city is currently marketing the first construction phase in the "Gehardhagen Nordost" development area. This development area is located not far from the wooded ridges of the Lichtenberge and the Heerter See European nature reserve on the northern outskirts of Gebhardshagen. An initial 31 plots can be developed with detached and semi-detached houses. The purchase price is between 105 euros/m² and 115 euros/m², depending on the location of the plot and whether it can be built on.
In the Ringelheim development area ("Lange Äcker West"), building plots have been created far away from the noise of the city and with good infrastructure, which are offered at a price of 80 euros per square meter. At the moment, 20 building plots can still be purchased. In a further construction phase, a further 20 building plots will be created once the currently available building plots have been sold.
