The Dormero hotel chain is building the hotel with investor and developer Helmut de Jong between Blumentriften and Chemnitzer Straße, on the site where Elka and Commerzbank used to be based. The hotel is set to open its doors as early as summer 2018.

Dormero Hotel AG signed the contract with de Jong on March 15. De Jong has already made a name for himself thanks to numerous investments, particularly in Salzgitter-Lebenstedt. "I am looking forward to this major construction project with the family-run Berliner Hotel AG," said de Jong.

The new hotel is intended to enrich Salzgitter and is primarily aimed at business travelers and conference guests. According to Marcus Maximilian Wöhrl, CEO of Dormero, "Dormero is a perfect fit for Salzgitter, as the city is currently undergoing forward-looking infrastructural changes as an important business location."

The hotel with 120 rooms, a restaurant, fitness and wellness area and a spacious 300 square meter conference area will be completed after a construction period of around 15 months.
