Situation in Salzgitter
Only two roads were closed in the city of Salzgitter on Wednesday morning. These were Krähenriede, where the Fuhse burst its banks, and Gebhardshagen. Here, the SRB closed Sternbergstraße and Gustedter Straße and set up a detour because the Mühlenbach had flooded the roadway.
The water level is regularly checked at known critical points, such as the Sangebach in Lesse and the Innersten in Ringelheim. The professional fire department and volunteer fire brigades are keeping an eye on the situation in Flachstöckheim and Salzgitter-Bad. The situation in the rest of the city is currently stable.
Rescue service supports evacuation of old people's home in Goslar
Since Wednesday morning, many available members of the emergency services have been working in Goslar to support the evacuation of a retirement home. The command service and four ambulances from the professional fire department's day-to-day operations were deployed, as well as six vehicles from the German Red Cross and Johanniter-Unfall-Hilfe (JUH).
As a result, there were short waiting times for patient transport in Salzgitter. In the meantime, the rescue service has been replenished with off-duty personnel from the professional fire department, so that there should no longer be any longer waiting times for patient transport.
