In the first phase, a new barrier-free indoor swimming pool will be built by May 2018. This will be followed by the renovation of the existing indoor pool in the second construction phase. The entire new Stadtbad with around 1000 square meters of water will be available from mid-2019.

Due to the extensive modernization and renovation work, the outdoor pool located right next door will not be open until 2018. According to Bäder, Sport und Freizeit GmbH (BSF), it is also not certain what will happen to the old pools (from the 1960s). A decision on renovation/new construction is still pending.
