New bistro in the Thermalsolbad

From September 25, the CJD Salzgitter team is looking forward to welcoming numerous visitors to "SOLEmare". The grand opening took place with invited guests on September 24.

Following a redesign of the bistro, which was supported by the CJD Salzgitter's carpentry and painting department, guests of all ages can now enjoy a varied range of food and drinks. The menu is to be gradually expanded to include fitness-oriented food and drinks.

In the "SOLEmare", CJD employees work together with participants with disabilities to look after their physical well-being. The bistro's regular opening hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 11.30 am to 7.30 pm, Thursday from 11.30 am to 8 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 11.30 am to 6 pm.

At the opening, Lord Mayor Frank Klingebiel said: "The CJD has been a reliable partner for many years and I am delighted that the CJD, as the new bistro operator, is offering additional work opportunities for people with disabilities. This shows how important the CJD is in the social landscape of our city." With regard to the Thermalsolbad, he emphasized: "The new bistro "SOLEmare" offers high-quality catering for the guests of the Thermalsolbad. This will make it even more attractive as a destination for families in the future. I would like to thank the CJD for its commitment to integrating people with disabilities into the labor market."

Ulrich Leidecker, Chairman of the BSF Supervisory Board, is delighted with the CJD as the new tenant and emphasized: "This is a great solution for everyone involved. Inclusion in the labor market is particularly successful through projects such as "SOLEmare". From the BSF's point of view, I am delighted that the bistro service for bathers is now secured for the long term."

Kirk Chamberlain, General Manager of the CJD for Braunschweig, Salzgitter and Wolfsburg, is also positive about the cooperation and added: "By operating the bistro, we are continuing our partnership with the city of Salzgitter. Additional opportunities have been created there for disabled people to pursue a varied professional activity - inclusion at the poolside, so to speak."
