Where possible, all local stakeholders such as farmers, nature conservation associations, forestry authorities, maintenance associations and landowners should be involved in these planning processes.
The aim is to develop practical and coordinated management plans with the participation of all stakeholders by the end of 2020.
Management plans must be drawn up for fauna-flora habitat areas (FFH areas) and bird protection areas (VS areas) in order to implement European legal requirements. These plans describe specific measures to ensure the long-term preservation of habitat types such as the oak-hornbeam forest.
The following events are planned to kick things off:
for the FFH area 122 "Salzgitterscher Höhenzug (southern part)" on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, at 6 p.m. in the meeting room, "Kleines Rathaus" Salzgitter-Bad
for the VS area 51 "Heerter See" on Thursday, January 9, 2020, at 5 p.m. in the meeting room on the 10th floor, Salzgitter-Lebenstedt town hall
for the FFH area 384 "Haverlahwiese open-cast mine" on Thursday, January 16, 2020, at 6 p.m. in the meeting room on the 10th floor, Salzgitter-Lebenstedt town hall
The planning offices commissioned by the City of Salzgitter will present their teams, the objectives of the management planning and the planned planning process at the events.
