Specifically, as a landfill class (DK) 0+ landfill and its operation as a DK 0+ landfill in accordance with the requirements of the Landfill Ordinance.
The landfill site is located directly on the B 248 federal highway between the towns of Salzgitter-Thiede in the north and Salzgitter-Drütte in the southwest. The site is accessed via a service road to the north of the site, which leads onto the B248 federal highway.
The total area of the site is approx. 20.5 ha, whereby approx. 1.6 ha is accounted for by the operation of the existing on-site construction waste processing plant, which is not part of the current application. The pure waste disposal area covers approx. 13.6 ha. The volume for waste disposal based on the submitted planning amounts to a total of approx. 1.75 million m³.
The total duration of the landfill is approx. 17.5 years. Mineral inert waste as well as bottom ash and slag that meet the classification criteria of DK 0 of the Landfill Ordinance are to be deposited.
An environmental impact assessment is required for the project. A regional planning procedure is not required. The responsible authority is the Braunschweig State Trade Supervisory Office.

Objections to the plan can be raised in writing or for the record by those whose interests are affected by the project up to two weeks after the end of the exhibition period, 25.10.2018, at the following offices

After expiry of the objection period, the objections raised in good time against the plan, the comments submitted in good time by associations and the comments of the authorities on the plan will be discussed with the project sponsor, the authorities, the affected parties and those who have raised objections or submitted comments.
The discussion date is announced in good time, at least one week in advance, in accordance with local practice.
