The Salzgitter Volkshochschule is once again organizing the "Thermography Night Walk" with the Lower Saxony Consumer Advice Centre and the Climate Protection Management of the City of Salzgitter on Tuesday, January 30, in Lebenstedt at the Volkshochschule, Thiestraße 26a, and on Thursday, February 1, at the Volkshochschule Salzgitter-Bad (Kniestedter Herrenhaus), Braunschweiger Straße 137a, both from 6 to 9 pm.
After a short introduction, we will walk to selected buildings. Thermal images will be taken there to identify the energy weaknesses of buildings. In unrenovated buildings, only a third of the energy can be used to heat the house. Most of the energy is lost through walls, windows or floors. This is visible with a thermal imaging camera and can be seen by interested parties during the night walk.
The tour will be led by a certified energy consultant who will explain what has been seen and point out renovation options. The event is free of charge for participants. Prior registration is essential (www.vhs-Salzgitter.de) or by telephone on 05341/839-3604 or 839-2200. Further information is available from the City of Salzgitter's climate protection manager, Jan Holzenbecher (telephone: 05341/839-4141).
The "Night walks with thermography" are part of the city of Salzgitter's climate protection concept.
