An ox cart with harnessed oxen and the princess's carriage stand in the castle courtyard. Remains of a rampart and a wide moat (in the function of a sand fall protection area) are located in front of the castle wall. The castle walls of varying heights (2 - 3 meters) are made of wood and invite visitors to climb and balance.

Various features such as ropes, cables, ledges, handholds and holes in the wall increase the fun of climbing and playing and constantly offer new challenges. The walkway runs along the inside of the wall, from where you can descend into the castle courtyard via nets and ladders. Fall protection areas protect the climbers. Part of the castle wall was brought down by a battering ram (large rope swing for 10-15 children to use at the same time). The keep dominates the southern edge of the castle.

The project costs for the construction of the Ritterburg playground amounted to around 250,000 euros. The playground equipment accounted for around 165,000 euros and the safety measures (fence, fall protection) and path construction and earthworks cost around 85,000 euros.

In the last few weeks, complaints during the inspection of the playground by the TÜV expert delayed completion. The new playground has now been opened just in time for the start of the summer vacations. We wish all the children lots of fun discovering the knight's castle!
