Salzgitter

Knights' castle playground opened

On Tuesday, June 26, the Ritterburg playground in Salzgitter-Gebhardshagen was inaugurated by the First Mayor Stefan Klein and the local mayor Annegrit Grabb.

The Ritterburg playground will be the third adventure playground in Salzgitter, in addition to the existing pirate playground in Salzgitter-Lebenstedt and the Roxy-Helco playground in Salzgitter-Bad. A unique feature of the Ritterburg playground is that it is set against the backdrop of a real castle, the historic moated castle from the 12th century.

Children from the "An der Burg" elementary school in Salzgitter-Gebhardshagen christened this playground "Ritterburgspielplatz" even before it was completed. The playground in the form of a medieval playscape is ideal for children aged 6 to 12. The imaginatively designed castle area invites them to climb, balance, slide, run around and discover.
