During this time, construction measures with a contract volume of around 2.8 million euros are planned.
These measures include the implementation of all-day school operations (canteens) as well as measures for preventive fire protection and energy-related and other renovation work.
Most of the money will be spent at Emil-Langen-Realschule, Realschule Salzgitter-Bad, Gymnasium Salzgitter-Bad and Grundschule Hallendorf.
Other schools with building projects are: Kranich-Gymnasium, Maria-Montessori-Schule, Sonnenbergschule, Hauptschule an der Klunkau, Schulzentrum Fredenberg, Hauptschule Salzgitter-Bad, BBS Ludwig-Erhard, Gottfried-Linke-Realschule, Hauptschule am Fredenberg, GHS Flachstöckheim, Grundschule am See. Minor renovation and refurbishment work is also being carried out on other buildings.
Since 2008, around eight million euros have been set aside annually for school renovation measures. The "School Renovation Plan 2007 plus" introduced by Lord Mayor Frank Klingebiel was extended by two to twelve years (until 2020) following a unanimous decision by the council on February 27, 2013.
The publication "Building for the Learning City" shows how the funds have been used so far. Over 62 pages in DIN A4 format, it provides comprehensive information about the investments. It was updated in spring 2013.
