The film focuses primarily on the main characters, i.e. the caregivers, daycare children and their parents. They show with how much joy and curiosity they master life and learning together in everyday life. The film's target groups are Salzgitter families, active childminders and potential interested parties. With this short promotional film, the specialist service wants to show how much fun it is to work as a childminder.
It also shows how much support the "main players" receive from the city administration, how the administrative staff provide advice and assistance to the childminders, from advising and placing parents, to providing supportive care on site and individual pedagogical advice.
The film can now be viewed on the website of the city of Salzgitter, its Facebook page and on You Tube.
The film premiere in the Kulturscheune in Lebenstedt was attended by over 100 viewers interested in the topic. The head of the Child Daycare and Family Services department, Marion Rotter-Becker, welcomed the guests and thanked everyone who had taken part in the filming: "It was only with your help that this expressive film could be made at all." She made it clear how important new day care centers are for young families in Salzgitter: "It's great that we have so many new children in our city." However, this also leads to a shortage of childcare facilities, such as kindergartens and daycare centers. There are currently 210 daycare places in the city with 55 daycare parents, but the need is much greater. "Thank you for your commitment", Rotter-Becker thanked the foster parents, "you are doing a good job".
Susanne Meier from the Family Services Office reported on the background work required to make the short film. She gave an impressive account of the preparations, the efforts involved in filming, the work on set as well as the small mishaps behind the scenes and amusing anecdotes. Afterwards, the short playback of so-called "outtakes" caused hearty laughter. The children, youth and family department thanked the main actors of the film with small gifts. The guests and organizers were able to chat in a relaxed atmosphere and enjoy a small snack.
