Salzgitter

Expansion of Danziger Strasse

The Danziger Straße in Thiede is currently undergoing a thorough renovation between the Panscheberg junction and the Schulring junction. The second construction phase has now begun.

A full road closure is still necessary.

To make it clear how and where the road has been closed and which detour can be used to avoid the roadworks, 15 large signs have been erected. Since April 15, they have been indicating the detour routes in the Braunschweig, Peine, Wolfenbüttel and Salzgitter areas.

City planning officer Michael Tacke pointed out that this important construction work will be carried out in various sections, which will be completed one after the other, so that as many properties as possible remain accessible during the construction phase.

The total length of all construction sections is approximately 760 meters. Approximately 6,300 square meters of road surface and around 3,800 square meters of sidewalk will be constructed. Depending on the weather, around nine months of construction time will be required for the entire extension. The total cost of this road construction project is around 2.6 million euros.
